Bi-Mart accepts Health Savings Cards in all of our stores. FSA, HSA and HRA cards are debit cards linked to an employer-provided benefit plan. They are designed to make healthcare more affordable by allowing employees to set aside a portion of their pre-tax wages to pay for “qualified medical expenses.” The Health Savings Card is a convenient way for employees to access the pre-tax funds they have set aside. These expenses include co-payments, deductibles, prescriptions, and other out-of-pocket expenses not covered by healthcare plans. Health Savings Cards may also be used to purchase certain over-the-counter (OTC) items such as medications used to alleviate or treat injuries or illness. Not all OTC items are eligible and eligibility is determined by the IRS.
Employers offer Health Savings Cards to their employees as part of their benefit plan. Participation by employees is voluntary. If you have questions about whether your health plan includes Health Savings Cards, please contact your employer’s benefits administrator or insurance company.
